An elderly man was killed after he fell into oncoming traffic on Woodhaven Boulevard in Woodhaven Wednesday night.
At around 9 p.m., Mostafa Mirbahar, 67, of Jamaica was crossing the intersection of Woodhaven Boulevard and Jamaica Avenue, walking west when he slipped and fell off an island into one of the northbound lanes of Woodhaven Boulevard. He was then struck by a 2002 Honda Accord. The driver stayed at the scene.
The victim was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center with traumatic injuries to his head and face and was pronounced dead there.
Police suspect no criminality at this time.
