Thousands gathered in South Richmond Hill Saturday to celebrate one of the largest parades in the world marking the Hindu feast of Phagwah, the “Festival of Colors,” which heralds winter’s transition into spring.

Revelers from Canada to the Caribbean came to Queens just to take part in the festival and parade, which began at Liberty Avenue and 133rd Street and ended at Smokey Oval Park on Atlantic Avenue.
