A woman in her 70s was robbed and beaten by two teenagers in Lindenwood on Tuesday and police are searching for the suspects.
At 3:20 p.m. in the vicinity of 153rd Avenue and 88th Street, a 73-year-old female, whose name police is witholding because her assailants are still at large, was walking on the sidewalk with a cart of groceries when an unknown female suspect approached her from behind and took the victims pocketbook, which contained $100 dollars, a trac cell phone, and assorted personal items. An unknown male suspect then punched the victim in the face causing her to fall to the ground. The victim was transported to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center and treated for her injuries, which included a laceration to her ear and abrasions to her arm.
Police say the suspects are a black woman, around 18 years old, with a thin build and last seen wearing a vest, and a black male, also approximately 18 years old with a thin build and last seen wearing dark clothing and tan cargo shorts.
The attack was caught on surveillance video from a nearby apartment building.
