Another speed bump was approved for a busy residential street in Woodhaven Tuesday night.

Community Board 9 voted unanimously to move forward with plans from the city Department of Transportation to construct a speed bump on 78th Street between Rockaway Boulevard and 91st Avenue.

CB 9 member Etienne David Adorno, who lives in Woodhaven, said the route is a busy northbound thoroughfare used by drivers between Atlantic and Jamaica avenues and is the first northbound route for drivers heading west on Atlantic Avenue in nearly 10 blocks.

“It’s a busy street,” he explained. “And drivers often speed on it.”

Speed bumps have been popping up all over Woodhaven recently.

Last month, the DOT installed a speed bump on 80th Street between Jamaica Avenue and Park Lane South and two others in the neighborhood, one on 88th Street near PS 88 and the other on 96th Street, were approved by CB 9 last year.
