While Tuesday’s late rush hour rainstorm left some commuters caught in a downpour, once they got home, Queens residents were treated to a treat from Mother Nature.
A rainbow, seen here from Ozone Park, adorned the eastern sky at around 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, the result of the setting sunlight hitting falling rain as the storm system passed southeast of the city.
People in Brooklyn and Manhattan also posted pictures of the rainbow on social media.
The occurrence appeared brighter depending on where one was in relation to the rain. Some people, especially in Manhattan, reported seeing two rainbows for a time.
