'Residents say casino is a new beginning for area' I'd like to meet these so-called residents. I'm an actual resident and the only new beginning I see is for no less than 3 pawn shops which have opened since this casino came to be. No security outside the facility? Genius. Patrons who are supposed to be at work but gambling instead? Patrons who are hoping to win money to pay their bills??? Wow. You people are in for a rude awakening and I sincerely hope you don't lose a job that you should consider yourself fortunate to have in this economy. Don’t get me started on the new traffic pattern on Rockaway Boulevard and the fact that my commute from Kew Gardens has been directly affected by changes to the Q37 route. While it's nice that the place has provided jobs for many, there are equal parts downside to the whole thing and, until they are addressed, I'm not a fan.
