Anyone interested in issues concerning borough residents of retirement age is invited to the next meeting of the Queens Interagency Council on Aging.
The event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. June 18 in room 213 of Borough Hall, located at 120-55 Queens Blvd. in Kew Gardens.
All are welcome, though QICA extends a special invite to its members, seniors, service professionals and government officials.
Attendees will get a chance to help QICA shape its legislative agenda for its upcoming year, which runs from this fall until next June, as well as hear about the group’s accomplishments during the year that’s ending. The council is a boroughwide coalition of more than 100 organizations and individuals that provide services to older adults.
QICA also wants people to help spread the word about the pending change in the Senior Citizen Rent Increase Exemption program. Households earning up to $50,000 a year will be eligible for a rent freeze.
Seating at the meeting is limited, and attendees are asked to pre-register by calling QICA at (718) 268-5954, sending a fax to (718) 268-5952 or sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
