Let’s Go Mets! — Opening Day 2012

All was as it should be for opening day of the baseball season at Citi Field on Thursday. The weather was sunny, Johan Santana pitched five shutout innings in his first game in more than a year, and David Wright drove in the only run of the game as the Mets won, 1-0. And it all happened against the Atlanta Braves.
The team also held a pregame ceremony honoring Hall of Famer Gary Carter, the Mets All-Star and 1986 World Series hero who died at age 57 in February.
And outside the ballpark, fans of all ages came with team colors, and hopes for a pennant once the weather turns cooler once again in October.
