I find it interesting that Amy Paulin states that she is receiving death threats but the example given is nothing more then a mild insult.

Amy Paulin's bill was dangerously flawed by further entrenching an animal sheltering system that is not working. NYC has established a nationwide reputation as one of virtual killing fields for animals. Ms Paulin has yet to explain why she refuses to support Micah Kellner's bill known as The Companion Animal Access and Rescue Act, or CAARA - a bill with the endorsement of the League of Women Voters. Ms Paulin would serve her community far better by pursuing a convenient city shelter in the borough of Queens - as the city council originally mandated back in 2001. Even the NY Supreme Ct ruled that the city build shelters in the Bronx & Queens - until the city weasled out of the proposition through a money grubbing court appeal. NYC kills 200 BEAUTIFUL, ADOPTABLE DOGS & even more cats every single month. NYC stands with cities like Detroit where animal well-being still resides in barbaric Dark Ages.
