Long Island Rail Road crews worked through the night in sleet and snow Monday night into Tuesday morning following the derailment of a nonpassenger train in Rego Park. Repairs are continuing.

No one was hurt in the mishap, though subsequent rush hours have been affected as crews repair 3,700 feet of damaged track and remove the four cars from the train that derailed.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said in a statement issued Tuesday morning that 11 trains had to be canceled and nine others diverted to Brooklyn or stopped at Jamaica. LIRR officials said that will be the case until Friday.
