City Councilman Dan Halloran (D-Whitestone) is recovering well from brain surgery Wednesday to remove a benign tumor, according to his chief of staff, Chrissy Voskerichian.
The councilman found out in March that he had developed the tumor, near his right ear, following testing that he offered at his office through the Brain Tumor Foundation.
He has taken a temporary leave of absence from the City Council. Voskerichian said she believes the surgery took four hours and she saw Halloran shortly after. “There was no hearing loss or loss of movement to his face,” she said.
He hopes to return home soon to continue his recuperation and be back at work in two weeks.
