The Center for the Women of New York will holds its 26th annual World of Working Women conference on Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel at 135-20 39 Ave. in Flushing.
There will be a panel discussion in the morning, followed by a career fair from noon to 3 p.m. Participants are asked to bring resumes.
Workshops will convene from 1:30 to 3 p.m., followed by a dress for success fashion show.
Taking part in the morning program will be Julie Cordero of Reddy-Care Physical Therapy; Gillian Gutierrez of the U.S. Department of Labor; Cassandra Hill of Delta Airlines; Dr. Pauline Kuyler of Queens County Mental Health; Denise Doyle, of Non-Traditional Employment for Women; Gloria Amaya of New York Life; Nancy Baldwin of Northrop-Grumman; and Lisa Boily of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Former City Councilwoman and Assemblywoman Melinda Katz will be the keynote speaker. She is running for borough president on the Democratic ticket.
The conference is free.
