The Police Department is seeking the public’s help in finding this man, who tried to kidnap a College Point woman.

The crime took place at 12:15 a.m. Sunday when the perpetrator, while driving a four-door sedan, approached the 18-year-old victim, who was walking on 25th Avenue near 126th Street. The suspect asked her if she wanted a ride. The victim said no and continued walking. He then parked his car and grabbed the victim around the waist and put his hand over her mouth, trying to drag her back to his vehicle. She resisted and the suspect ran to his vehicle and drove away.

The suspect is described as Hispanic, approximately 30 to 35 years old, with a light beard and mustache, short dark spiked hair, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by texting 274637 (CRIMES), then entering TIP577. All tips are strictly confidential.
