The annual commemoration of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center was held on the anniversary last week at the White-stone Memorial Field.

The event was sponsored by the White-stone Veterans Memorial Day Association.

Speaking at the microphone is David Rifkin, group president, right. With him are Gregory Dunleavy, American Legion, holding the flag, left; James McVey, commander of the Whitestone American Legion; and James Chin, of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary out of Bayside.

The Whitestone association includes the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Jewish War Veterans.

Welcome to the discussion.
