Top leaders among women are honored
The Center for the Women of New York held its 25th Anniversary Luncheon at Douglaston Manor on Saturday, April 28.
Receiving the group’s Woman of Distinction award was Matilda Cuomo, Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s mother and former Gov. Mario Cuomo’s wife.
Honored with the Woman in Leadership award were Assemblywoman Grace Meng of Flushing and Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley of Middle Village.
Interestingly, Meng and Crowley, as well as two other candidates, are facing off politically, each vying to be the Democratic nominee in the race for the 6th Congressional District seat.
