Police arrested Edresse Pazandeh, 26, of 41st Avenue in Flushing Tuesday night for armed arson after he allegedly set a flower pot on fire outside the 109th Precinct headquarters on Union Street.

The incident occurred at 9:17 p.m. on Tuesday when EMS staff members said they observed Pazandeh putting a liquid into a flower pot on a surveillance camera and setting it on fire.

He fled the scene but was captured at 34th Avenue and Union Street. It is also alleged that Pazandeh broke a police car window prior to the incident.

Police report no damage to the station house and believe the man is emotionally disturbed, published reports say. The fire was quickly extinguished.

Pazandeh has also been charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
