As part of her Girl Scout Gold Award project, Whitestone’s Nathalie Fargo held a cleanup day at the Western Riding Club stables in Fresh Meadows on Sunday.

Nathalie, 15, recruited her friends and fellow scouts to paint and clean up the stables, which is facing eviction if not enough money can be raised. The case remains in court.

Owner Joy Tirado, left, is shown with Nathalie and other volunteers who painted and stained the wood, replaced some wood and freshened up the barn. Area contractors donated paint, brushes and other supplies.
