Assemblyman David Weprin (D-Little Neck), right, presented the Queens Museum’s ArtAccess program on Nov. 16 with a $5,000 check.

The program has been recognized for bringing the arts to visitors with special needs.

Weprin was joined by Tom Finkelpearl, executive director of the Queens Museum of Art, left; Michelle L—pez, senior coordinator of the museum’s ArtAccess Library Programs & Autism Initiatives; Marissa Madonia, community affairs associate at Quality Services for the Autism Community; State Sen. Toby Stavisky (D-Flushing); United New York Early Intervention Providers and Parents as Partners Founder and Director Leslie Grubler.

“We know how much this program depends on additional funding sources and hope that these funds will help the museum keep the program going,” Weprin said.

Welcome to the discussion.
