After complaints from the Corona community and state Sen. Jose Peralta (D-East Elmhurst), a billboard ad promoting a Flushing strip club, Roadhouse NYC, has been taken down.

Peralta called out the advertisement, displayed on top of New Hope Baptist Church, located at 105-13 Northern Blvd., for showing the image of a female whom he said appears to be a minor.

“Like everyone else that I spoke to who had seen the billboard, I thought that the female pictured looked far too young to be featured in an ad for a strip club,” he said in a statement. “It was a jarring image that was offensive and sickening. That it sat above a church was an especially twisted mockery.”

It has not been confirmed whether or not the female is in fact a minor.

Welcome to the discussion.
