NYHQ doctor is killed

A New York Hospital Queens pediatrician was hit and killed while crossing against the light Monday night in Flushing.

Dr. Siu Lee, 55, was crossing Booth Memorial Avenue at 141st Street around 6:18 p.m. when he was struck by a Mercedes-Benz.

Lee had parked his car in the physicians’ lot, across the street from the hospital. He was on his way to attend a patient when he was struck.

The doctor was taken into NYHQ where he died of massive trauma to the head and body, police report.

The driver, 23, remained at the scene of the accident and was not charged, although the investigation continues.

NYHQ officials report that Lee had worked at the hospital for 15 years. He had practiced medicine for more than 20 years and was a graduate of Yonsei University in South Korea. Lee also did missionary work in China and Mexico.

The victim lived in Woodbury with his wife, Haikyung, two sons, Michael and Jonathan and a daughter, Sarah, according to published reports. Funeral services are pending.
