A woman in her 40s was killed by a city bus on Wednesday morning while crossing Northern Boulevard at Union Street.
Police say that the as-yet unidentified woman was dead at the scene. It was determined that the bus was traveling southbound on Union Street and made a wide right turn onto westbound Northern Boulevard, striking the pedestrian.
The investigation is ongoing.
To help prevent accidents at the busy intersection, in 2010 the Department of Transportation banned left turns from northbound Union Street onto westbound Northern Boulevard.
