Civic and elected leaders gathered Friday to welcome the new commanding officer of the 109th Precinct in Flushing.

Capt. Tom Conforti, third from left, told the audience at the Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel that he had fond memories of Flushing, having met his wife there.

Also honored at the luncheon was Capt. Tommy Ng, third from right in front, who is leaving the 109th to become commanding officer of the 72nd Precinct in Brooklyn.

Conforti, who came from the 112th Precinct in Forest Hills, replaced Inspector Brian McGuire, who was transferred to the Patrol Borough Queens North in the Narcotics Bureau.

Welcome to the discussion.
