Assemblyman Ron Kim, center, here joins merchants near the Murray Hill Long Island Rail Road station after they recently cleaned up the area.

The group gathered to pick up refuse and power wash the station area and nearby streets. They will continue to clean the area every Saturday.

Also helping out were members of the Korean Cuisine Globalization Committee and the Korean American Association of Queens.

This is Kim’s second initiative to clean up Flushing. Prior to this event, volunteers power washed the area around historic St. George’s Episcopal Church in downtown Flushing.

Welcome to the discussion.
