New York Mets players Jonathon Niese, left, and Scott Rice recently delivered a Citymeals-on-Wheels dinner to recipient Nora, last name withheld, of Flushing.

They made stops at several locations for the upcoming Labor Day holiday.

The holiday boxes contained the equivalent of three shelf-stable meals, including pouches of salmon and tuna, mixed vegetables, low-sugar cookies, crackers, organic brown rice, powdered milk, coffee and tea.

In total, Citymeals will deliver 14,924 boxes for the Labor Day weekend. Citymeals is a nonprofit group that prepares and delivers weekend, holiday and emergency meals to the frail elderly.
