Familiar community faces and notable politicos were on hand Oct. 25 for the grand opening of the Margaret Tietz Nursing and Rehabilitation Center’s new kosher kitchen.
The nonprofit expanded and renovated its in-house eatery to serve the denizens of its cavernous, 200-bed facility.
The former kitchen included a non-kosher section, as well as a full-service kosher kitchen under the supervision of Vaad Harabonim of Queens.
The update features an expansion and renovation of the kosher kitchen, including state-of-the-art separate meat and dairy sections, all by Cholov Yisroel. The non-kosher kitchen was eliminated.
Public officials on hand included Deputy Borough President Barry Grodenchik, left, Assemblyman Ed Braunstein (D-Whitestone), state Sen. Toby Stavisky (D-Flushing), Assemblyman David Weprin (D-Little Neck), center, Assemblyman Rory Lancman (D-Hillcrest) and Assemblywoman Grace Meng (D-Flushing)..
