Last Saturday, volunteers completed the first new public mural in Flushing in more than a decade.

John Choe, executive director of One Flushing Community Economic Development Center, organized a cleanup effort to beautify an area near the Long Island Rail Road Station.

Volunteers, top, are seen painting the wall as a part of this effort. The finished mural, above, designed by Sandra Fabara, features a street festival scene, complete with panda bears and a flying dragon.

The mural is located below the westbound side of the tracks and will be maintained by One Flushing.

Welcome to the discussion.
