Around this time next year, library users are expected to be able to return to the Kew Gardens Hills branch, which is set to reopen then.
The library, located at Vleigh Place and 72nd Ave., is being enlarged by 3,000 square feet at a cost of $8.2 million. Only the shell remains.
While work continues, the Queens Library has set up a temporary branch at 71-34 Main St.
The original facility closed for renovation in 2013 because space had been become such an issue for the community.
