For the third year in a row, Vallo Transportation, a school bus and charter service, has sponsored a summer read aloud and crafts program at the Whitestone Library.

The event included a pajama storytime reading session — of “The Wheels on the Bus,” naturally — arts and crafts and refreshments.

Vallo also provided a grant to pay for new children’s books at the branch. And it sponsored a new program, Page to Stage, in which students read books at the Bayside, Corona and Flushing libraries and then went to see theatrical and musical performances of the same stories at Queens Theatre in Flushing Meadows Park.

Seen here with some happy youngsters at the Whitestone Library are Linda DeSabato, center, Vallo’s president, and library and company officials.

Welcome to the discussion.
