Flushing Hospital officials and invited guests toasted the late Maureen Russo on Monday night during a dedication ceremony for the facility’s new hospice unit.
The four-bed unit was named after Russo, who battled cancer for 5 1/2 years and received hospice care during the final stages of her life. Her husband, Michael Russo, inset, is the hospital’s board chairman.
Each large room features a convertible couch for overnight guests, a flat-screen TV and Internet service. The unit also features a family room and lounge with a kitchen area and a big-screen TV.
