Police want your help in finding a man they say raped a woman after burning her hair and clothes in Flushing on Dec. 4.

The alleged perpetrator, Wu Lin, knew his victim, police said. The two were in a car parked inside Kissena Park at about 10 p.m. when the crime occurred.

Lin allegedly assaulted the 31-year-old woman, then burned her hair and clothes with the car’s cigarette lighter and then raped her. She eventually managed to escape from the vehicle.

Lin, who also took the victim’s cell phone, according to Sgt. Brendan Ryan, a police spokesman, is an Asian man who is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

Police canvassed the area after being called in, Ryan said, but could not find the suspect.

Anyone with information about Lin’s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips by logging onto nypdcrimestoppers.com, or by texting 274637 (CRIMES), then entering TIP577. Police note that all tips to Crime Stoppers are kept strictly confidential.
