The Downtown Flushing Business Improvement District is looking for shutterbugs to enter its second annual photo contest.

Photos are sought that will show positive images of downtown Flushing and what it means to the photographers. Entries are due no later than Dec. 31.

The first-prize winner will receive an iPad, while the second-place winner will get an iPad mini, and the third-prize winner will take home an iPod Touch.

Submissions can be mailed, but must be postmarked by 5 p.m. on Dec. 31. Those that are emailed must be sent by 11:59 p.m. on the same date.

Any type of camera can be used but those using digital must submit by email and they must be at most 1,600 pixels. Photoshopping the images is not permitted, nor are photo collages or panoramas.

Entry forms and release forms verifying that the entrant is at least 18 are available online at the group’s website: flushingbid.com or by calling (718) 888-1805.

Judging will be based on creativity and photographic quality. Winners will be announced by Feb. 15 and will be notified by email or telephone.

Last year’s contest drew 100 entries ranging from CitiField to downtown Flushing businesses.

Welcome to the discussion.
