C. Anthony Finney, who teaches biology at Flushing International High School, is one of the winners of the Fund for the City of New York’s Sloan Awards for Excellence in Teaching Science and Mathematics.
The awards recognize creative mathematics and science teachers who achieve superb results and inspire young people to pursue careers in science and mathematics. Winning teachers can receive awards ofbetween $5,000and $7,500, and each of their schools gets another $2,500to strengthen science and mathematics programs. The awards were handed out Dec. 4 and 5.
