Longtime Bellerose civic leader Rose Daddario, 98, died on July 9.

Daddario and her late husband, Frank, moved to 240th Street in 1954 and became active in the Creedmoor Civic Association. She first served as secretary and later as president from 1988 to 1999.

Daddario helped in the formation of the Queens County Farm Museum in Floral Park and served on Community Board 13 for many years.

Current CCA President Mike O’Keeffe said that she was very knowledgeable in civic and government matters, and forcefully advocated for issues that she believed in. “She will be missed,” O’Keeffe added.

Surviving are her two sons, Louis and Robert, and a daughter, Theresa Wright, eight grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.

The funeral Mass was held on Monday at St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church in Bellerose with burial in Calverton National Cemetery.

The family asks that donations be made to the Queens County Farm Museum at Queensfarm.org.
