A colorful and evocative World’s Fair train show was held over the long holiday weekend at the Queens Botanical Garden in Flushing.
The Long Island Garden Railway Society created a working G-scale model train exhibit in a setting of the 1964-65 World’s Fair in Flushing Meadows Park.
Visitors watched as the miniature train circled a scale model of the Unisphere and its fountain. Tiny cable cars simulated the Swiss sky ride from the fair.
The three-day event also featured food, craft vendors, a trackless train for rides around the botanical garden and a concert by the John Yao Big Band.
