Please call the church by its name. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It is improper to call the church The Mormon Church. As journalist you should know this. Now, in light of the Free Exercise clause of the constitution the legislatures and the courts cannot deny the establishment or practice of religion in the USA. So, zoning or no zoning the right of a church to build a place of worship cannot be denied. Thank God for America and her constitution.

Thanks for commenting. This is what the church itself says, on its website, with no mention of impropriety:
WHO WE ARE
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the official name of the religion commonly called the Mormon Church.
