It’s been heady times recently for Little Leaguers in Glen Oaks and College Point.

On Friday, the Glen Oaks Little League Challengers, top, played a one-inning game at Citi Field against the Queens Kiwanis Champions and PONY baseball-softball champs. The teams are for children with special needs.

On hand to watch were former Mets greats Doc Gooden and Buddy Harrelson.

Over in College Point, the 8 years and under Little League team won the regional championship in Connecticut. The team, above, will represent the Northeast in the American Amateur Baseball Congress World Series in Georgia, July 25 to 28.

Welcome to the discussion.
