Young members of the Hindu Temple Society of North America were among several ethnic groups that performed Sunday in Kissena Corridor Park in Flushing.
The first Family Fun Fest drew a crowd of about 1,000. Also part of the program were African singing, Korean drumming and Chinese and Filipino dancing.
The event celebrated the 50th anniversary of the World’s Fair at Flushing Meadows.It was sponsored by the North Queens Community Programs Committee, made up of 20 area organizations.
The committee will present a music and movie night at the park on Thursday, Aug. 21 at 6 p.m.
