Alleged mosque hate crime

At 4:50 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a man stabbed in front of a mosque located at 72-55 Kissena Blvd. in Kew Gardens Hills. Officers found a 57-year-old Asian male with stab wounds to the torso. EMS took the victim to New York Hospital Queens, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect allegedly made anti-Muslim statements, setting off suspicions the assault was a hate crime.

The suspect is described as a white male between the ages of 35 and 45, 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds, with blue eyes and a light complexion.
