Students and administrators at York College in Jamaica here receive a $25,000 grant from the JetBlue Foundation, an independent organization founded by the airline to support aviation-related education in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Present for the donation were students Yan Jin, left, and Fawwad Toor, York President Marcia Kiezs, Olajide Oladipo, chairman of York’s Business and Economics Department, students Narj Singh, Carin Solis and Khadim Kebe, Chun-Pin Hsu, director of the City University of New York Aviation Institute, and Alfred Ntoko, dean of York’s School of Business and Information Systems.

The foundation is an entity legally independent of the airline and has a separate board of directors and advisory committee that are both made up of employees from various levels of the company.

Welcome to the discussion.
