Elected officials, civic leaders, veterans groups, school officials, local clergy, scout troops, and youth groups will participate in the parade and ceremonies.

The parade is sponsored by the Laurelton Lions Club, the Garden Club of Laurelton, the Concerned Citizens of Laurelton, Benjamin Moore American Legion Post 1946 and Colonel Edward O. Gourdin VFW Post 5298.

The Rosedale Memorial Day Parade will also take place on Monday, beginning at 10 a.m. at 243rd Street and Mayda Road at the Capital One Bank. This year’s grand marshal is Democratic District Leader Elmer Blackburne.

The parade route ends at the Sunrise Highway and Francis Lewis Boulevard at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. Immediately afterwards guests are invited to head over to Rosedale-Laurelton American Legion Post 483, at 135th Avenue and Brookville Boulevard, for hot dogs, ice cream and more.

Welcome to the discussion.
