Plainclothes officers assigned to the 113th Precinct Anti-Crime Team attempted to get Elmore to pull over, but he kept driving and eventually ditched the car near Ovid Place and Dormans Road and fled on foot, according to the NYPD.

The officers chased him through the rear yards of several residences before he was apprehended on Keeseville Avenue in St. Albans, police said. Elmore allegedly had a .25-caliber firearm in his possession when he was taken into custody.

He was charged with rape, criminal possession of a loaded firearm, reckless endangerment, fleeing from an officer in a motor vehicle, criminal possession of stolen property, grand larceny auto, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to stop at a stop sign.

On April 20 at around 12:50 a.m., Elmore forced a woman, 21, into an alley using a gun, raped her and fled, according to police. The victim was treated at an area hospital.

Elmore has a long arrest record including charges of grand larceny auto, robbery, criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful impersonation, criminal contempt of court and marijuana sale, the NYPD said.
