Rookie Port Authority Police Officers Lenny Guzman, left, and William Mudry are being credited with saving a 71-year-old woman from Texas who had no pulse and was not breathing when she collapsed at LaGuardia Airport Monday afternoon.

A Port Authority spokesman said the woman was stricken on the lower level of the United Airlines section of the Central Terminal.

Guzman and Mudry, both one month out of the police academy, began to perform CPR and then used an automatic external defibrillator device, which is designed to shock a stopped or an irregularly-beating heart back into rhythm.

She responded to the second application of the machine and was transported by EMS personnel to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where she was reported to be recovering.
