Michael Woods, a junior guard with the men’s basketball team at York College, set a school record for points in a single game on Jan. 15 in a 103-68 win over Medgar Evers College.
Woods, seen here in a game earlier this season, scored 44 points, hitting 17 of 24 shots from the field and going 8-for-11 from the foul line. He eclipsed the former mark of 43 set by Elliot Bruce in 1987 against SUNY-Purchase College. Bruce was in attendance at the York game.
The victory was York’s sixth straight, giving the Cardinals a record of 9-5, including 6-1 in the City University of New York Athletic Conference.
