Jay Walder, chairman and CEO of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, will be the featured speaker at the next York College Executive Leadership Breakfast Series, to be held on Oct. 8.

The event will take place in the Faculty Dining Room of the Academic Core Building at 94-20 Guy R. Brewer Blvd. in Jamaica, from 8 to 9:30 AM.

Appointed by Gov. David Paterson in 2009 to manage the downstate region’s transportation system, Mr. Walder will address a wide range of topics associated with managing one of the world's busiest transit networks.

“York College is situated in the midst of a busy transportation hub,” college President Marcia Keizs said. “As New Yorkers, most of our students, faculty, staff, as well as large numbers of our external community who come to our campus for the various cultural events, rely on public transportation, including the services of the MTA. Having Mr. Walder as an executive breakfast speaker is a natural; and we look forward to what he has to say about the current challenges.”

Welcome to the discussion.
