We already have Jamaica hospital and take a look around Jamaica, there is at least one type of doctor or physician facility on every block. Yes, we certainly do not need another run down shelter with the types of people they bring, we already have enough of low class people in Jamaica, we don't need to import more into the community.
Our leaders always want to talk about the 'revitalization" of Jamaica, well for that to happen we need to bring in quality people. Almost every other places in Queens (LIC , Astoria, Ridgewood, Forest Hills, Jackson Heights) are attracting quality people and young people to their communities (except Jamaica) and it shows with all the new upscale businesses coming into those areas. What we need that place to be is a high end condo or apartment to start to attracting the kinds of people who can bring in quality restaurants, retail and businesses. Otherwise Jamaica is doomed to continue to be a low class ghetto community. Hell our new nice restaurants, the few that have opened, are having a hard time surviving in this community with the types of people who live here, we need new blood.http://cleanupjamaicaqueens.wordpress.com/
We're always interested in hearing about news in our community. Let us know what's going on!
