Hit-and-run kills Bklyn. man

A 35-year-old Brooklyn man was killed in an alleged hit-and-run accident on Aug. 1 near the intersection of 230th Place and Lansing Avenue in Brookville.

Police in the 105th Precinct said Jose Padilla-Argueta was unconscious and bleeding heavily from multiple injuries when they responded at about 5:10 a.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.

Police said he is believed t have been struck at another location.

A check of surveillance cameras in the area have the NYPD looking for the operator of a light-colored two-door Volkswagen GTI sedan that was recorded heading east on Lansing to the south on Conduit Avenue. The car has substantial damage to its passenger side front bumper, an unlit headlight, a caved-in windshield and partial roof damage.
