Congressman Gregory Meeks (D-Jamaica), center right, celebrated the opening of CityRib, a new restaurant in Jamaica with representatives from the Greater Jamaica Association, Queens Business Improvement District and others on July 26.

CityRib was opened by restaurateurs Paul Lamas, center, and Peter Poulakakos, not pictured, who developed the place into an aesthetically appealing sit-down eatery.

“We strive to create an exceptional eating experience for the local residents while supporting the local economy,” Lamas said.

CityRib serves two house sauces. The Queens sauce is a sweet, tangy, eclectic sauce that doesn’t pack too much heat. The Kings sauce is a thick, spicier tomato and molasses-based sauce with a hint of bourbon

Meeks said CityRib, located at 89-04 Parsons Blvd., is one of several establishments created to implement his vision for the development and economic growth of Jamaica.

“Consider this a jump-start for the future of our community,” Meeks said.
