A car crashed into a family’s home at 45-29 Inwood St. in Jamaica on Oct. 12, injuring the two people in the vehicle but no one in the house
Homeowner Carmen Tavarez said she and her family were having breakfast when she heard a loud “boom” as the car crashed into her daughter’s bedroom late in the morning.
“Thank God no one was playing outside,” Tavarez said.
According to witnesses, one vehicle cut off the car, a Toyota Camry, and forced it into the Tavarez’s home. The first vehicle took off before police could arrive on the scene.
The Department of Buildings responded to the home and deemed it safe. The injured were taken to Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
