Assault charges against a bouncer from a South Richmond Hill club could be upgraded to murder after the man he was accused of beating died last Sunday.

Multiple published reports state that Kristian Sorbera, 27, of Fresh Meadows, a bouncer at Club Moka, is accused of beating Deosarran Ramdular, 24, in the early morning hours of March 18.

Ramdular was being treated at Elmhurst Hospital Center. Reports said his family took him off a life support system on Sunday.

The Office of Queens District Attorney Richard Brown is expected to refer new charges to a grand jury.

Sorbera’s Facebook page lists him as a master auto mechanic working for a service station and a towing company, as well as working in security.

His family told DNAinfo.com that a group Ramdular was with had been ejected from the club earlier that night.

They said that Sorbera was acting in self-defense when the group surrounded him as he left the club after work.

Sorbera has been held on bail since his arrest on March 18.
