Queens, NY — The Moving Wall, a half-size replica of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington, DC, opened to the public Friday with a ceremony in Middle Village’s Juniper Valley Park.

The wall will be open 24 hours a day to visitors through 10 a.m on Monday, when there will be a closing ceremony.

The monument replicates the 58,000 names of those members of the armed forces killed in the Vietnam War.

It marks the first time the monument has been in Queens since 2004.

Members of the Glendale Civilian Observation Patrol are providing overnight security at the memorial.
